The Academic jazz courses offer at Saint Louis College of Music is a comprehensive journey from the genre's traditional roots to contemporary European influences. FOUNDATION COURSES

The Foundation course lays the groundwork for your musical career.
Training includes individual instrument or singing lessons, harmony, and ear training classes, participation in ensembles for live performances, and the exploration of music technology. The student experience is enriched by interaction with renowned jazz musicians.
Upon completion of the Foundation course, you will be ready to enroll in the Bachelor program in jazz music.
BACHELOR COURSES

Jazz Bachelor courses are recognized by MUR (Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research).
These courses cover aspects such as interplay, creativity, and extemporaneous improvisation.
They involve the study and practice of Jazz composition and arrangement techniques for rhythm section and a 5-wind section, along with practical experience in conducting one's own scores with orchestral formations.
MASTER COURSES

Jazz Master courses are recognized by MUR (Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research).
In the two-year academic program, you have the option to choose between two tracks.
Instrument: Jazz improvement, with customized study plans based on the artistic inclinations of each student.
Jazz composition and arrangement: fosters creativity and experimentation with Jazz composition and arrangement techniques for small and large ensembles.
The courses are tailored to suit your stylistic inclinations, with the ultimate goal of achieving artistic recording and concert production.
HIGHER SPECIALIZATION COURSES

Founded in 1976, Saint Louis is a private institution recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. Saint Louis has four locations in Rome and one in Milan, all equipped with soundproof classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and studios. In Rome, they are situated in the Monti district, known for its cafes and live music venues. The Milan branch, located near Bovisa and Isola, is positioned within a creative hub featuring teaching spaces and hosting events.

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
Saint Louis organizes international music events and participates in the Erasmus+ program. It is also an incubator of new Projects promoting International growth and confrontation.

Saint Louis is the only High Education Music Institute in Italy working on the constant production of live events featuring its students. We believe in the practical learning on real stages, involving sound engineers, composers and applied music. And we put all our energies in that.
